Create a Positive Thinking Attitude by going on a Personal Development Diet
Do you ever remember going on a healthy food diet that just didn't stick? You felt like it was time to change because you looked in the mirror one day and you just weren't happy with the extra padding you put on.
So, you decided to go on a diet for 30 days and eat healthy in an attempt to shed some weight off. You're doing well and eating lots of fruits, vegetables, low fat yogurts, chicken, and almonds for that “good fat” intake.
Everything is going great. You lost 2 pounds in the first week, you feel healthy, and you also feel more energized. Day 14 rolls around and you really believe that you can stick to this diet for the rest of your life.
However, on day 15 your family decides to have a family get together. All of a sudden you are surrounded with buffalo wings, french fries, potato chips, and chocolate cake. Mmmmm...You've been craving chocolate cake forever and you know it's your weakness.
You decide to get mentally tough and try to put that cake out of your head. You walk by the dessert table 2 or 3 times trying not to look at the cake. You do everything in your power to get the desire of eating that chocolate cake out of your head.
You even go as far as covering it, then feeding your face with so many fruits and vegetables that you become stuffed. However, you still know that cake is there. It's in your head and you can't stop thinking about it!
Dessert time comes and everyone is devouring the cake. Your Auntie comes up to you and says, “Cake, sweetheart?” You look at the cake, then look at your Auntie. You think to yourself, “Well.... one little piece can't hurt? Can it?” Again, you look at the cake, then look at your Auntie. Your Auntie says, “Well????? What's it going to be?”. You take the cake and fork and stare at it for a few moments. Then you walk over to the trash can, open the lid, look at the cake one last time and you say, “Well, one piece of cake won't hurt.”
Finally, you devour the cake and throw the plate and fork away. Next day comes around and there is left over cake. So, you rationalize with yourself that you'll have one more piece then you're going back on your diet tomorrow. You eat the cake. Tomorrow comes and you find yourself eating french fries and buffalo wings. Your diet is lost.....
Has this ever happened to you? I know it has for me. Not with cake, but french fries are my weakness! It's like there is a devil inside the foods that taste so good, but are so unhealthy for us.
This article is not about food, sorry to disappoint, but if you want to grab a snack go ahead and do that now. This article is about coming up with a successful personal development diet, so you reprogram your mind from a poverty mindset to a prosperity and abundance mindset.
Now a days, at least in the western world, when people start to wake up and become conscious they probably have just watched the movie the Secret. The Secret was a ground breaking movie that has probably helped millions of people take hold of their life and begin creating what they want. The main theme of the movie is, “What you think about will come about.” Have you ever heard of that statement before?
What this means is that you have to constantly control, direct, and monitor your thoughts, so you become a vibrational match to success, abundance, and prosperity. Once you're a vibrational match to what you desire, then it will show up in your physical experience.
However, I suppose there is a lot of frustration after someone watches the Secret for two reasons.
- That person now has to think prosperity or abundance 24/7 in order to get what they wanted. As a result, they try to think prosperity for a couple weeks straight, then crash back into their old ways of thinking. This then lead them to believe that “this doesn't work” and they're back to their old, limiting beliefs and habits again.
- It takes a lot of self discipline and willpower to constantly and consistently have a positive thinking attitude. The Secret fails to show you how to successfully achieve a positive mindset.
This is why I'm introducing you to a supplement, called the personal development diet for a positive thinking attitude.
About five years ago, when I first began waking up, I went through an experience of thinking positive thoughts then losing my discipline and crashing back to a poverty mindset for a whole year. I believed that my thoughts had everything to do with success and if I wasn't getting the results, I thought it was because of my mindset and inconsistent patterns of positive thinking towards that desire.
However, I still didn't understand why it was so hard for me to consistently have a positive thinking attitude. So, I would think prosperous thoughts and do my best to stay positive when something challenging happened, but ultimately I failed because of lack of self discipline and willpower.
Since I'm a student of how things work in this universe, I began to realize that “feelings” are more important for manifesting and learning intentions. I also realized that willpower and self discipline are totally separate entities.
The question “why I couldn't maintain the discipline and will power to have a positive thinking attitude” kept bothering me. What I began to understand is that we are creatures of habit. Everything we do from breathing to driving a car are habitual patterns ingrained into our unconscious mind. This also means that our ways of thinking are habitual, too.
Habits are the result of being disciplined. Self discipline is the result of having will power. However, will power is on and off. Therefore, self discipline is always on and off. Habits, on the other hand, stay consistent, stored, and present until enough discipline is repeated to change the habit.
What this means is just because one day you lack the willpower and self discipline for implementing a new habit, doesn't mean it's lost forever and you have to start over.
Five years ago I was 22 years old when I started my awakening and that meant I had 22 years of a poverty mindset as my habitual way of thinking. This was just going to take time to uncover my old, limiting unconscious thought patterns.
To illustrate the process of changing our habits and thinking, picture the following. You have a dark cup of hazelnut coffee that represents your old limiting thinking. Then, in the other hand, you have a cup of clear water that represents your new prosperous way of thinking. As you begin to pour the clear water into the coffee cup what happens? The clear water begins to dilute the coffee. Observe how the clear water doesn't replace the coffee right way. As you pour more clear water into the coffee it becomes weaker and lighter until all you have is clear water.
Replacing your old habits and limiting thoughts are much the same process. You need to constantly and consistently pour a positive thinking attitude into your system, so you dilute your old, limiting ways of thinking. Over time your old patterns will dilute completely and you'll be left with only a prosperity mindset (clear glass of water).
This can be harder than it sounds because going back to your old ways of thinking is so much easier than cutting a new path of thoughts and habits. If lack of self discipline and willpower is an issue for you, then you'll probably fail or meet much frustration installing a new mental attitude.
This is where I want to give you a recommended process that you can do to create a positive thinking attitude, while not exerting a lot of self discipline and complete failure in changing your mental habits.
What I want you to do is treat your new mindset like going to a job. You work 5 days a week, but have the weekends off. So, you're going to have the willpower and self discipline to consistently think in new ways, have optimism, think prosperous, and be abundant as best as you can for 5 days in a row. Then, you can allow yourself to crash and think negatively and be judgmental for two days. Once those two days are over, then you're back to your new positive thinking attitude.
There are two benefits to this personal development diet:
- Eighty percent of your week is geared towards your new positive thinking attitude, which far outweighs the 20 percent of negative thinking. Therefore, new habits are forming and the clear water effect is taking place.
- Over time you're going to eliminate those two days of negative thinking. After having and practicing your new mindset for 5 days, you're going to eventually be disgusted and turned off from going into those two days of negative thinking. As a result, you're not going to want to have those two “crash” days and your positive thinking attitude will just take over.
This program will actually work for any new habits that you want to form. Especially in the health and diet area. Maybe on Sunday you can allow yourself to eat junk, but the other six days you stick to your diet plan. Your diet plan will be more enticing because you have something to look forward too and you'll eventually replace the “junk” day with your habitual diet.
This personal development diet will work for you because instead of unconsciously crashing, you're conscious of installing new habits and you're conscious on when the “crash” is going to happen.
I'll be truthful here...changing your old ways of thinking can be challenging and very difficult to do. It may take extraordinary self discipline and will power to successfully do this. The best advice I can give is try the personal development diet above and everyday feed your mind with uplifting, truthful, and positive information. The clear glass of water effect is always in place. You just have to be consistent and conscious with the process in order to see results.
